Donald M. Piercy was a remarkable educator who touched the lives of countless students over the course of his 43-year career. He was known for his unwavering dedication to teaching, as well as his willingness to go above and beyond to help his students succeed. Mr. Piercy had a passion for math and a talent for making even the most difficult concepts understandable to his students. He was patient and willing to spend extra time with those who needed it. He was also a mentor and a role model, and his influence extended far beyond the classroom including years spent coaching cross country, chaperoning Ski Club, reffing basketball, tutoring math and substitute teaching throughout his retirement. The Donald M. Piercy Memorial Scholarship honors his legacy by recognizing exceptional students who embody his spirit of excellence, hard work, and dedication to learning.

-Attending a College/University to pursue a degree in education

-Demonstrate a passion for learning

REQUIREMENTS:

-Complete application by the provided deadline

--Short essay on why you want to become a teacher

-Official High School Transcript
